Hello Art Fighters! Welcome to Art Fight 2019. We’re all excited for you to participate!
As you already know, the theme of 2019 is Dream vs Nightmare!
Here is some general information for those who are new!
How to get sorted:
Now that the event has officially started, you can click “Current Event” in the upper right hand corner to check it out. Once there, you can go ahead and get sorted into a team. Team sorting is done manually to help prevent teams from being flooded with abandoned and inactive accounts.
Which team you get sorted is mostly based on how many users are on the teams already, to help make sure that the user count is balanced and each team has an equal chance based on member count.
How to attack:
Once you’ve been sorted into one of the two teams, you are then able to click the Submit button in the navbar and there should now be “Attack!”.
What is rating?
Once the fight has started, you may notice a Rate Attacks option show up under Browse. Here, you can rate attacks that have been submitted, giving them a small addition to their points if you upvote them. You can only vote on each attack once a day.
This is not a required part of gameplay! It’s just if you want to take part in it. You also do not need to be on a team to rate! Spectators, if you want to have a little part in the game too, now’s your chance!
Is friendly fire a thing? What is it?
Friendly fire in Art Fight means to attack someone on the same team as opposed to attacking someone on the opposite team, and It most definitely is a thing! You’d attack them just like you would anybody else, except since the goal is to attack people on the other team, friendly fire will not count for points.

if you go to edit your desciption you will find a little icon that will show ''insert an image'' when you put your mouse over it. If you then click it you will need to put in the URL of the image. to find an image URL, you have to right click on the image you want to use and click ''copy image adress'' ( or it might say image URL). When you've copied it you just need to insert it in the URL part. That should work. If it doesnt work or if you don't understand my explanation(i'm sorry if thats the case) Feel free to send me a private message and I'll help you!! : D

If you're not sure where to start go to Browse on the top bar and click Characters. It'll show a whole bunch of new ones, pick one from the opposite team and just go for it! And just because you're on team dream or team nightmare doesn't mean you have to draw to fit a certain theme either. You can if you want but you really don't have to if you don't want to.
Once you're done, just submit the attack! Use the person's username and the ID number of the character to select them, and if you're unsure how to categorize your attack, there's an attack categorization article under guides.
If you want other people to draw your characters, go to Submit on the top bar, select character, and upload a few images and some information of them. Try to have at least one clear, fullbody image for other artists to reference. These characters you post must be your own, hopefully that's obvious but just thought I'd throw that out there. Once you submit your character it will appear on your profile under characters. It's generally best to have a decent amount of characters, at least four I'd say. More variety and more characters means a better chance of getting art from what I've seen. That being said, ArtFight is not a website to simply throw some characters on and get some free art, you gotta draw some to get some, so be patient, and normally what goes around comes around. ^^
Try not to feel put off if you're not getting a lot of attacks back. Some artists, especially more popular ones, don't always attack back as they get a lot of attacks / may stick to attacking their friends / artists similar to them in style or other reasons. That's okay too, there's no wrong way to participate in art fight. If you really want to make sure there's more give and take though, look for users who say on their pages that they always or mostly attack back.
